The OD&D Handbook Project - Part the Third (The Things I Do for Love of the Game)

Yep - still working hard on the OD&D Handbook Project. In an effort to organize the often disparate pieces of data involved in such an undertaking, I've started to compile all relevant points into a single worksheet. Thus far, I've plowed through Chainmail, the original three booklets, and the Greyhawk supplement.

The results can be found below. More to come.

  1. I think this is an awesome project! If I understand it correctly you're actually rebuilding the rules in a more orderly fashion, you're not putting together "your own variant" of the rules "as you remember them" which lots of other people seem to have done before. I hope you'll keep trucking, reading through the original rules in a way that lays them out more clearly would be *so* much fun!

  2. Thank you, sir. You are absolutely correct in your assessment of the project. I seek to absorb and understand the original D&D rules so I can better organize them for my own satisfaction. I doubt I'm the first to do so, but that remains my goal. Your enthusiasm and support are greatly appreciated. I shall do my best to be worthy of them.

Once the initial three booklets are done, I do intend to create my own "Greyhawk" or "Blackmoor" tome for my own campaign. This Supplement I will detail my own campaign setting and include options or variants from the established rules.
